BUCKINGHAM PALACE / WHAT'S THE USE - THE COL NOLAN SOUL SYNDICATE

Often hailed as Australia's premier Hammond player, Col Nolan has long been a mainstay in the Sydney scene. Contributing to various projects such as an early member of The Daly Wilson Big Band, session organist for Sven Libaek and also running his own various groups. Here we choose to highlight his work with his early seventies unit, The 'Soul Syndicate'. Two killer scats, 'Buckingham Palace' and 'What's the Use'. In fact this 45 is actually a reissue from the original ultra rare single released in 1973. While 'What's the Use' featured on the album 'Live at Jason's', the Hammond heavy 'Buckingham Palace' was only ever the B-side from the single. Over the last ten years it has achieved high demand due to it's appearance on the 1995 Australian compilation 'Heading in the Right Direction'. We are quite excited to see it back on the 7inch format again. Limited to 200 copies. The tracks feature Col Nolan - Hammond Organ, Johnny Nicol - guitar/scats, Laurie Lewis - Saxophone, and future drummer for Ian Carr's 'Nucleus', Roger Sellers.
